Softheon is looking for an analytical and driven Director, Cloud Infrastructure to lead and orchestrate Softheon’s Private and Hybrid Cloud technology operations and support business functions through the management and delivery of IT services. The Director, Cloud Infrastructure will use their years of experience in systems and network administration to evaluate, assess, and document Softheon’s existing infrastructure service and work with existing and new IT staff, vendors, advisors, and consultants to roadmap, design, and implement changes and improvements to meet Softheon’s desired availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, performance, and scalability goals, while maintaining and improving Softheon’s adherence to applicable industry and government requirements for security and compliance.

In this role, you will develop, grow, and lead a team of internal systems administrators and managed service providers to continuously monitor and respond to and address threats and incidents proactively and reactively. The ideal candidate for this role is an individual whose interest is at the intersection of hands-on systems administration and growing and developing other Systems Administrators, as well as finding ways to improve and upgrade systems network infrastructure, architecture, and methodology to enhance and support a rapidly evolving, cross-functional environment.

  • Providing direct day-to-day, project based, future planning, and emergency response administration of Softheon’s Private Cloud Infrastructure

    • 1,200+_Windows 2012/2016 Virtual Machines
    • 3 Three-Tier Hyper-V Virtualization Clusters Utilizing Windows Failover Clustering
    • 5-12 Physical Notes
    • Dell EMC SC SAN
    • Dell Force10 Networking
    • 2 Microsoft Active Directory Domains
    • 200+ Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (Installation & Communications, no SQL Access)
    • Network and security appliances (IPS, Web Application Firewall, Load Balancer, Web Security Gateway/Proxy)
    • Vendor management, evaluation, acquisition, onboarding, and Knowledge Transfer
    • Colocation datacenter, ISP, SOC, SIEM, Malicious Code Protection, etc.
  • Providing primary ownership and oversight in the key operational and compliance driven fields of Softheon’s infrastructure

  • Pitching and road mapping expansions into Hybrid/Public Cloud or continued physical expansions within existing colocations and into new geographically diverse installations in new datacenters
  • Maintaining and improving Softheon’s adherence to applicable industry and government requirements for security and compliance
    • Currently Applicable: HIPAA, PCI, NIST 800-53/MARS-E/FISMA, SOC
    • Immediate Future: HITRUST, FEDRamp
  • Performing other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of IT Cloud Management and CEO


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another related field
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • 3+ years managing a team of professionals
  • 7+ years of relevant IT Administration experience with enterprise level Cloud technologies
  • Must have experience with physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure and be proficient in the following:
    • Vendor management (colocation datacenter, ISP, SOC, SIEM, Malicious Code Protection)
    • Networking and security appliances (Firewalls, Switches, Intrusion Protection, Web Application Firewalls, Load Balancers, Web Security Gateways/Proxies)
    • Microsoft Windows Server (Linux Administration experience a plus)
    • Installations and upgrades of non-proprietary applications (i.e. MS SQL Server, RabbitMQ, McAfee EPO & Endpoint, .Net Core/Framework Runtimes)
    • Virtualization Hosting Clusters (Hyper-V preferred)
    • SAN (Dell EMC preferred)
    • Directory/Authentication Services (Microsoft Active Directory preferred)
    • Microsoft Powershell
  • CCNA, A+, Security, Microsoft Server Administrator certifications preferred but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing simultaneous projects
