We now live in a remote-first world where realtime digital interactions underpin our daily lives. In the near future, Autonomous Vehicles, IoT devices (e.g. connected fridges or environment sensors), and AI-powered experiences will be the norm. But new infrastructure is required to power it all.


The opportunity in front of us is immense. Our mission is to become the definitive realtime infrastructure of the internet while powering and accelerating adoption of realtime user experiences. We’re on track. Everyday we deliver billions of realtime messages to more than 200 million people in 80 different countries across web, mobile, and IoT platforms. But we can’t rest yet. In five years we want to reach one billion people everyday.

In this role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to support the Finance and Ops Lead and Finance Manager by taking responsibility for the day to day workings of the accounts department.

Your responsibilities will range from managing the accounts receivable, controlling expenditure, leading the month end process and supporting a wide range of accounting activities.


Day to day, you will:
  • Account receivable: Raise and post sales invoices and credit notes. Take ownership of credit control across new and existing accounts.

  • Controller: Approve expenditure in line with the budget and find ways to improve this process and provide more autonomy to teams.

  • Month end close: Lead the month end process, determine relevant accruals and prepayments.

  • Support payroll, VAT, statutory reporting, insurance and year-end audit.

  • R&D: Manage and liaise with the business to complete the R&D tax claim, work with the financial analyst to forecast future R&D tax claims.

  • Work on process improvement and efficiencies to support the business as we scale
    • Identifying areas of inefficiencies within our existing systems

    • Leading projects to reduce these inefficiencies and build scalable solutions


It would be great if you have:
  • Part-qualified or qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA

  • Bachelors / graduate degree in Economics, Maths, Finance or equivalent

  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, Xero

  • Exposure to dealing with multiple currencies

  • Ability to learn and adapt to change quickly, and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise workload and deliver high quality and timely information

  • Ability to work within a well within a team and across a range of business functions

It would be nice if you have:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the business

  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting guidelines (IFRS 9 & 15)

  • A self-starter with an eagerness to learn

  • Experience working within a fast-paced and high-growth environment.
