About the Role & Opportunity

The person serving as Senior UX Designer at AutoVitals has the opportunity to elevate the user experience across our hosted Workflow Efficiency, Customer Acquisition and Retention products. You’ll shape our products by understanding our users' needs, translating these into intuitive designs and validating them from initial concepts to final products. Our SaaS product is accessed via desktops and mobile devices.

The industry of Independent Automotive influences the daily lives of nearly everyone and yet it’s also one of the least digitized industries. That’s why we’re looking for a talented Senior UX Designer to join AutoVitals’ journey to revolutionize a historically underserved industry.

This position will report to the Group Product Manager and has the opportunity to work remotely or be based in our San Diego or Phoenix office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What You’ll Do

Design. Partner. Advocate

  • Design and validate new experiences via mockups, wireframes, flow diagrams, sketches, and other UX artifacts for our cloud-based applications
  • Work as a member of cross-functional product development team, collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers to set the product's strategy, and create solutions based on research
  • Partner with Product Management to create personas, conduct generative research and usability tests with AutoVitals users, online
  • Help complete the patterns and elements within our Design System
  • Advocate for the user and evangelize user experience throughout the organization
  • Promote a positive culture and overcome challenges through endurance, grit, and persistence

Requirements

Proficiency. Ownership. Productive

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in graphic design, HCI, UX, a related area of study is preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing experiences for desktop and mobile with a strong portfolio of design work, including products where the presentation of data is important to the overall user experience
  • Strong aptitude for performing and synthesizing research, including contextual inquiry
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven track record presenting designs and articulating design decisions to both cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in leading design software such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong ownership, bias to action, and know-how to succeed in ambiguity
  • Ability to design as a team, exploring and promoting new ideas, including those that may belong to others
  • Enjoy the challenges of leveraging critical thinking and system thinking to address complex and varying needs of B2B customers, in the broadest manner possible
  • Ability to lead design on multiple complex projects at once and constantly assess the best path forward
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and champion the best outcomes for our customers first and foremost
