We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager (f/m/d) to join our Quick-Commerce team. Contribute to the creation of our next generation platform, that works on expanding our amazing delivery to new products such as groceries, pharmaceuticals, flowers and more. Work on warehouse management systems, our shopper app and our customer facing systems. Your mission:




  • You will work on our next generation platform to not only provide food for our hungry customers but also other daily urgent needs like drinks, fruits, snacks but as well batteries.




  • You will lead a team to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable services.




  • You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineering leaders, and leadership across Q-Commerce.




  • You will hire and develop engineers and scientists, with a deep understanding of agile software development methodologies.




  • You will be managing multiple teams of engineering teams and data science teams.




  • You are not shying away to build reliable, scalable systems with high concurrency and are always eager to learn and implement new languages & technologies. Your decisions will make an impact since your ideas & efforts do matter.




  • Eventually you are not afraid to build global systems which are used by thousands of people and constantly drive for excellence.




  • You will work in a goal driven environment.





Your heroic skills:




  • 5+ years of experience of multiple team management experience.




  • 6+ years of professional application development knowledge.




  • 4+ years of experience in applications infrastructure management and operations.




  • 4+ years of experience in working agile methodologies.




  • Deep understanding of service-oriented and microservices architectural patterns, troubleshooting methods and best practices.




  • Strong experience managing software engineering teams and developing technical direct reports (performance review communication, accountability, motivation/engagement).




  • Strong design, architecture, and problem solving skills.




  • You are a pragmatic manager who understands what is needed to get things done in a collaborative manner.




  • Experience mentoring and coaching team members.




  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full. software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.




  • Deep understanding of service-oriented and microservices architectural patterns, troubleshooting methods, and best practices.




  • You love to learn and constantly improve your own skills, and are not afraid to jump into new things.




  • Improve the user experience of existing solutions by being data-driven, analyze the impact of features, make hypotheses and implement new solutions.




  • You believe in cross-functional teams and know that responsibility does not end with deployment.




  • Fluent english communication skill.





Nice to have:




  • Experience of working in a fast paced environments handling multiple, competing priorities.




  • Academic and/or industry experience with machine learning or large-scale distributed systems.




  • Experience in infrastructure and devops.




  • Proven track record of building and managing high performing engineering teams.




  • Passion for people management and mentorship/coaching.
