Duties: Develop smart and scalable solutions and help architect the software. Participate in design reviews and provide input to the high level design recommendations. Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to design specifications. Deliver production ready code early in Scrum, and to minimize defects in the quality assurance phase. Support the quality assurance phase by fixing defects throughout the testing phase. Identify efficiencies and improvements to design documentation as well as coding methodologies and practices. Provide support for release implementation and production issues.
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer/Software Developer, Programmer Analyst, IT Analyst/Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Master's degree plus three (3) years of experience.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following skills: Distributed Systems design and development; Software design including: Domain driven design patterns, microservices design, event architecture designs and relational data modeling; Frameworks including: Spring framework, Spring Boot, Java J2EE, and MVC. Cloudbased computing experience with AWS/Enterprise Compute, Pivotal Cloud foundry and Kubernetes; Databases including RDMS systems including: Sybase, DB2, Maria DB, and no SQL DB; Cassandra; Automated testing tools Cucumber, Selenium, jmeter and blazemeter; Service API design and build leveraging SOAP; RESTful web service implementations leveraging XML/XSD and JSON; and Event public/subscribe experience with queuing systems using JMS, AMQ, Rabbit MQ, IBM MQ and Kafka
