A Principal Software Engineer is responsible for coding system features and fixes as per the Definition of Done requirements for the TrialScope product suite. Engineers may investigate customer reported issues, coordinate with customer support analysts, and contribute to maintenance releases.

The Principal Software Engineer’s role includes researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs. Testing and evaluating new programs. Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications.

Skills & requirements

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with senior developers, business analysts, and support analysts to investigate application issues and provide root cause analysis
  • Identify areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing the modifications
  • Code system features and fixes as per the Definition of Done requirements for the TrialScope product suite
  • Create or maintain technical design documentation
  • Unit test and evaluate new programs
  • Develop quality assurance procedures
  • Conduct or support demos for product features or fixes
  • Maintain and upgrade existing systems

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years professional software development experience
  • Knowledge and interest in computer systems and the latest technologies
  • The ability to learn new technologies
  • An analytical mind
  • The ability to communicate complex procedures to other colleagues
  • Commercial and business awareness
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
