We’re broadening our horizons – are you?
It’s an exciting time to be involved with Technology at William Hill. We’re a global betting and gaming company, growing into new markets all the time. We wouldn’t be able to do this without a talented technology team – and that’s where you come in. There’s a lot going on #behindthebet.
We make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after – we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.
Your role in the team
Here, you’ll push the boundaries of how we approach software development by moving our software development structure to be vertically aligned and feature driven. Contributing to and improving the software development life cycle (SDLC) within the team you’ll help establish and promote an “internal open-source” development model to enable William Hill’s development teams to grow and thrive in a more feature driven way.
Working in the exciting and dynamic growth business of US Sports Betting with a focus on Retail technology (Kiosks, EPOS and Omni-channel features) you’ll be building the next generation of sports betting technology to drive William Hill’s US expansion plans. Here you’ll collaborate with QA to ensure the highest quality of software is delivered. You’ll also own the CI/CD improvements with the DevOps engineers to continuously deliver high quality software daily. Additionally, you’ll support the software and services you build through ensuring the quality of the delivery and you’ll always be prepared to help support when things go wrong.
You’ll have a strong background in backend development, with extensive experience writing clean, maintainable and high-quality code in the latest versions of Java. You’ll be comfortable with messaging technologies like Kafka and will understand functional programming paradigm and it’s benefits. Additionally, you’ll be comfortable with automated software testing through unit/functional/integration test suites.
